Casualty by imaginism Casualty by imaginism
This was an idea for a painting that I felt compelled to paint. I call it "CASUALTY."

It's always wonderful to paint things that are personal to how I feel or the things that concern me. I just wish this idea wasn't inspired by an event that was so horrific such as the BP oil spill.

Very sad.

How sad but beautiful and delicate image. Somebody said once that art is the only way for the human beings to turn the tragedy of living into something sufferable.

Oil spills are always so tragic, it's really sad to think of all the animals that die in them.
The legs on the fish-creature are really cool, and the iridescence from the oil was really well done. Great work!

How can there not be a comment on this!? It's amazing!
And really sad... :( if the fish-creature was the last of
its kind, of that it maybe mutated into that cause of all
the pollution in the ocean.. o_o ... You really made it
look like oil-grease, well done! And the creatures eye
(it reminds me of a rabbit) is really emotional, so sad..

I know exactly how you feel man. This captures the feeling perfectly. Definitely sucks feeling like a spectator to the destruction of our environment for resources that should be obsolete and outdated. :(

Powerful image, especially with the undercurrents of the oil spill - so devastating. This should be turned into a poster or banner or something and made huge. Cause I bet when people first look they won't notice the special little face on the fish, and when they do it might make people wonder what species are being killed that we haven't discovered yet.

I'm really glad you've decided to do this piece considering how you're inspirational to a lot of people esp. other artists. I do hope more people open their eyes to whats happening in the world considering how it'll eventually affect us all. Thank you, I myself am feeling very disappointed that this happened but it makes us more conscious of our environment.

A beautiful piece with a strong message, it makes me happy and sad at the same time.

I love the composistion of this. How the oil gathers around that one, poor, struggling creature, it just breaks your heart.

Beautiful work.

your painting has a quiet sadness to it. lovely.

I am so angry at BP oil spill. It could have been avoided! I hate all of these oil companies with such a terrible passion. We just need to get off this horrible oil and onto better eco friendly alternative fuels, before it becomes the death of us!>(

Very well done; it accurately depicts, in the most simplistic way, the true tragedy that unfolds with this disaster. It makes me so sad to think of all the animals that have died or are suffering from this event that could have been prevented so easily if not for the greed and selfishness of BP. I know they're trying to make it right, but in the worst ways. They really need to step it up.
Wonderful painting.
