Faeries concept (part 2) by imaginism Faeries concept (part 2) by imaginism
Here's another concept art that Bobby and I (Kei) did together for that film that didn't make its way to the end. But, these faeries where alot of fun to create...
We cant tell you what the story is, but you can tell us your own version in 4 sentences, and Il post the best ones by the end of the day!

-Kei

Wow... amazing stories and descriptions from everyone! This has really brought out some creative thinking in so many of you. It was hard to choose but.... the winner is :iconscreamingtc:
The moss suddenly seemed to come alive, little mounds pushing up on stunted limbs to reveal mud coloured underbellies and eyes blinking from too long spent asleep. It was rare for anything to disturb the Hrodberht from their deep slumber beneath the dappled light from the forest canopy, but rise they did, drawn by the distant call from the heart of the forest. The witching Oaks parted, revealing a path no human had been allowed to tread since the forest was young and human's paid homage to deities long forgotten. The Hrodberht could hear the call thrum deep within and it was not their boon to resist her summons...

Runner up from :iconsukeile:
A Poem;

Wings instead of ears,
or wings on their rump.

This is the fate of a little Grass-lump.

By day under ground,
At night up to walk.

Searching to nibble some tasty flower stalk.

Completely kewl. They've got some bit of the 'slicer trick' in common. Merging with the ground and grass, blending in. They remind me of weasels a bit. Weasel-wooolyworm-gopher-things

D: All this concept art is so epic! :iconcannotevenplz: I fail to comprehend why this movie wasn't made.
:) Did it have anything to do with Jim Henson? It all looks very similar to stuff he would do.

Wow this is really amazing

They remind me of Stray sod, faeries that look like tufts of grass that are supposed to confuse travelers when stepped on.

When Mother Nature has a stroke from the polluted environment, her faerie children come out of hiding to save the planet. Posing as Canadian tourists, they begin their elaborate environmental protest, leading to moss graffiti caking New York, TV station hijacking, and rallies (which ironically ends in hysteria after they discover their flyers aren't made from recycled paper). The faeries finally reach a compromise and open up flower shops across the globe, and their combined effort wakes Mother Nature. But New York City's mossy problem doesn't really go away. :)

The story in four sentences:
The stray sod were calm (mischievous, pugnacious, and twitterpated with troublemaking) upon the forest path as they awaited the misdirection of unsuspecting passerby, but became erratic (more so than usual) with anger and surprise when an army of zombie bunnies rushed over their heads. Never before had zombie bunnies been seen in these parts, though they’d been rumored of in tales of yore, and it was apparent that the zombie bunnies were headed for the mother-load of milk left out for the Fae at the Cornucopia of Fantastical Human Decency. The humans of Human Decency who guarded the faerie milk would obviously get their brains and tissues eaten away by the zombie bunnies who would continue on to overturn countless bowls of milk in order to get through to the Garden Patch of Rotten Vegetables. Four audacious, fuming stray sod, arose from their pathway plots, along with their larger, less intelligent (possibly completely stupid) compatriot, to march forth and overtake the killer bunny army to save their beloved milk (which they would indulge in later on that evening when they came out victorious).

Amazing tone. I love how you didn't go brightest bright with forest creatures. People usually assume the forest is always bright and sunny, but in areas with the most forest life in them, the sun is often blotted out by the canopy, and moss-like, grassy creatures aren't hard to imagine lurking about in the shadows, going about their daily business.

This is such an awesome idea :) I imagine them as these creatures that live in the grass around us and we don't even notice them. For some reason I suspect they are looking at something they want really bad...maybe something human made like ice cream! haha :) I imagine them to be very curious, cautious faeries
