Flying by imaginism Flying by imaginism
There's something really beautiful that many of us find about watching animals flying through the air. Here's one of many morning warm ups I've done.
Took about 30-40 min in Sketchbook Pro.

Aaah  this does look very realistic, actually. I could imagine something like that could have existed, when birds evolved from sauroid creatures.  It could evolve, if rabbits or small roo-type creatures took to flight in say, 150 millions of years from now.

I like mixing animal types. Evolution will come up with an infinity of ideas.

I really like this!  He's such a pretty, fuzzy oviraptor-faced critter!  Love the feeling of motion!

The lighting, the blur and the sense of motion, not to mention the design of the creature... I can't find anything not to love! Splendid paintwork.

The lighting is so realistic. Love it. I've been trying to practice painting animals, using reference photos for the lighting/shading. Hopefully it will help me with my own creatures too!
