The Familiars - Coverby `imaginism

Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to illustrate Harper Collin's new children's novel titled 'The Familiars'. The book has finally hit the shelves.

'The Familiars' is a kid's story about three young wizard apprentices who are kidnapped by the evil queen of a distant land and it is up to their familiars, their magical animal companions -- a street smart alley cat, a precocious blue jay, and a bumbling tree frog -- to save them.

In 2012 the book will also be made into a feature film by Sony Pictures Animation directed by Sam Raimi. Excited to see the book translate into the film.

there is a book called the guide to wizardry, in which it tells you about aldwyns academy and how everything goes down at the academy. everyone has a familiar, animals that choose you by your personality and they start to look like you and get your characteristics. but if you dont have a familiar, you go to an event, and they help you. during this event you cant eat, drink or sleep, until you find your familiar. dragons are rare, if you like playing with fire you get a dragon. xD

Amazing! I was actually drawn to this book by the amazing cover art, and I've been reading it since I got it at the library yesterday. And I had no idea this is going to be made into a movie, but I could just imagine it as a film. Can't wait~ :ohnoes:
