Tip of the Day: Mental BlindersSometimes you really have to just shut your brain off after making a good decision and just do it. Too many times we find that we know what to do but just don't do it. Today, come to a decision that is something you KNOW is a good one, then put on the mental blinders and just FOCUS on that task.
I think part of what success I've achieved so far has come from being able to focus on one thing for long periods of time like Forrest Gump.

If I always compared myself to others and wanted to constantly compete or beat others, I wouldn't want to share what I know.
Everyone is on their own journey but together we can get further and faster.

More opportunities come if you make a habit of striking up conversations with people you don't know.

Tip of the Day: having a missionTo have great success, you must have a good 'mission. What would you do if you could do anything or be given any job you want? Start from there. Don't worry about how hard it might be or how to make money from it yet. Figure out your mission and THEN figure out how to make a living from it.
The best missions don't come from taking but from wanting to give back. However, achieving goals for yourself can give you the success and ability to give back more.

Tip of the Week: VisualizingWhen you visualize the task before you do it, it makes it that much easier to accomplish and accomplished better. Especially for drawing and painting. Before I work on a film, I take about 10 or 20 minutes staring at something dark or close my eyes to try and visualize the movie before I start painting.
I believe that visualizing is the hardest and most powerful way to think. With conscious and persistent practice you can improve your ability to visualize.

I miss the days I had my "#1 Fan" as an artistic sounding board/partner. Sometimes two heads are better than one, finding out what ideas won't work and why. Another pair of eyes to see something in a different way.

(Sadly she doesn't do this anymore. Survival is her first priority, and no one else "understands" my art/creations like she does or I do.

)

I think working with other people is the most important part of any persons working life. It's taken me too many years of trying to do "everything" to finally realise that I should focus on something that I do well, and find others to collaborate/work with. For years I'd never really gotten anywhere, trying to write stories, draw, animate, make comics, paint, go back to the drawing board again, and the list goes on.

On the flip side, don't try working with unreliable people! No matter how much they promise they'll change, they won't in my experience. I would rather work alone, than be let down. At least then you only have yourself to blame and improve if things don't go according to plan.

I would agree with this because it has happened to me too! But I still want to work with people, even if that means getting let down every once in a while. Plus I find that I enjoy working with others and I love playing ideas off them. Sometimes crazy stuff happens!
